What Comes Around at Soho Flea…
Wow, what a couple of weeks! City showcase was a huge success at the end of May and with the help of my lovely friends Vivi and Brid I made it for 9.30am to Dean Street with a stall full of suitcase shelves to sell!
The feedback I got was great and I met some lovely people, one of the things I love about London so much is the constant stream of fresh talent which you often see stumbling across a pop up shop, gallery or flea market.
Some of my favourites at City showcase were obviously the fab Lou Rota with her striking upcycled fine bone china decorated with birds, bugs and floral.
Jewellery made from recycled material by Plastic seconds.
Äelska with her stunning sequin encrusted collars and brightly coloured neck pieces to make any outfit go ‘pop’.
Naomi Ryder who draws-with-stitch and print to create delicate and beautiful contemporary images of ordinary life and lastly Cut out girls the innovative design duo creating individually hand-made textile products, using natural and unique materials combined with back to basic traditional skills.
So with all this creative energy it’s time to get “Showcase” my suitcase shelves (thanks to my lovely brother Jose for the excellent play on words) out there!
You will be able to find them at my Etsy shop and they will also be featured in September’s issue of Vogue!
You can have your very own Showcase made to measure. They are all one-offs so no two are ever the same and are all created using handpicked vintage fabric and old leather suitcases.
So if it be a piece to finish off a room in your home, a wedding present or just because you want one! Put an order in and choose a size, small, medium or large and if you want any specific colours incorporated into the design and I’ll get to work on creating your unique suitcase!
